Senior Analyst Engineer *LI-MB1
 
ICON plc is one of Ireland’s leading public companies and is a contract research organization (“CRO”), providing outsourced development services on a global basis to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. 
 
We currently have an opening for the position of Senior Middleware Developer / Senior Analyst Engineer, based in Dublin. The successful candidate will Integrate Enterprise systems and implement enterprise messaging solutions, working as a member of the global delivery team in an agile / DevOps environment.   
 
Responsibilities 
  • Develop, test and maintain enterprise critical solutions and integrations using a variety of tools and frameworks 
  • Produce the required technical documentation and be a proactive member of a distributed cross functional team 
  • Implement solutions are bug free, secure, performance, testable and easy to maintain
  • Implementation and maintain practices, frameworks and tools to support continual integration and a DevOps delivery, including  working with the test team to maximise test coverage and the use of automated tests
  • Investigate, diagnose and resolve issues
  • Participate in solution, design and code reviews
Skills / Experience / Qualities 
 
We seeking an individual with a passion for innovation and technology.  The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and collaborator, who can effectively work as a member of a globally distributed team. The successful candidate will also have a Track record of driving the adoption of DevOps practices and tools.  
 
Required 
 
  • Experience in the design and implementation of ETL processes using Oracle ODI (preferred) or similar ETL tool (e.g. Informatica, Datastage, OWB etc)
  • Strong foundation and understanding of Dimensional Modeling, including familiarity with best practice methodologies such as Inmon and Kimball is highly desirable
  • Experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse or Data Warehouse using Oracle/Amazon Redshift
  • Analysis and design of data Integration solutions
  • Core principles around interfaces design
  • Understanding of integration transports, FTP etc
  • Advanced knowledge of PL-SQL
  • Minimum of five years’ experience integrating enterprise systems 
  • Knowledge of Integration design patterns including: service orientated architecture, micro services , event driven and messaging solutions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the SOAP and REST specifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of the WS-* specifications, including (Security, Reliability, BPEL, AtomicTransaction, ReliableMessaging, Addressing, Policy) 
  • Has been involved in the implementation of DevOps patterns and practices including automated testing, automating and integrating pipelines
  • Knowledge of approaches to unit testing and of unit testing frameworks 
Would be a benefit 
  • Knowledge Oracle SOA suite and/or Kafka 
  • Implemented Enterprise data warehouse and data analytics solutions  
  • Experience of new integration tools and platforms, for example: Boomi, Snaplogic 
Education 
  • Degree in computer sciences or equivalent
