Location: This role can be based anywhere in Europe (Office based or Home-based)

Duration: 6 Month Contract

ICON Language Services group is looking for an experienced Software Engineer/Web Developer to join our team.

What we need from you

•Experience in all of the following areas:

•Written & spoken English

•Object-oriented PHP

•Testing including Test-Driven Development (TDD)

•Commercial awareness and experience in using technology to solve real business problems

•Independence and self-sufficiency

•Web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, etc.

•Relational databases including MySQL

•Version control systems (i.e. Git) and related technologies

•Plus some of the following areas:

•CakePHP

•Build tools such as Ant, Phinx, Gulp, etc.

•Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins/TeamCity, etc.

•You have demonstrable experience of building web-based applications in a commercial environment, possibly in a variety of roles in the software development industry.

•You have strong opinions on best practices, experience in putting these into place in your work and are driven to develop your own skills and stay up-to-date.

•You are a good communicator, especially with non-technical people, and are skilled at translating business problems into technical solutions.

•You have access to previous examples of your work and are willing for us to approach previous employers or clients for testimonials/references.

•Home-based: you have a private, dedicated home-working space
