Statistical Programmer II role at ICON:

ICON is a global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. We specialize in the strategic development, management and analysis of programs that support Clinical Development - from compound selection to Phase I-IV clinical studies. ICON is presently in over 40 countries with over 80 offices worldwide and has over 11,000 employees globally.

This role sits within our Real World Evidence team where our SAS Programmer is responsible for analysis datasets, listings and safety summary tables. Works on more advanced complex tables or Analysis datasets, which may include basic statistical functionality (e.g. p-values). To provide project tracking information to the team, address any validation comments, and document programming activities.

As a member of staff, the employee is expected to embrace and contribute to our culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs
Travel (approximately 0%) domestic and international
Completes assignments to SAS programmers within a project team
Able to work on more complex analysis datasets derivations along with complex tables
Plans ahead, performs early review of all assigned project work
Escalates any issues
Is responsible to ensure that all output with a project is accurate and has consistent appearance
Creates and maintains study documentation and files according to department policy
Maintains professional currency through literature reviews and membership to professional bodies
Trains and assists other SAS programmers in India to develop their skills
Reads all project team communications and attends project team meetings
Uses technical skills to bring forward better methodologies and approaches to coding. Leads process and programming improvement through broader knowledge.

To succeed you will need:

A Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in a related field such as statistics, epidemiology, quantitative research methods, biology/medicine, etc. plus 2 years of relevant experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Working knowledge of the following: SAS Data step with simple conditional statements and variable creation; simple merges and concatenation; analyses using basic statistical procedures.
