A Senior Storage Administrator job typically involves managing the storage infrastructure of an organization using NetApp products. Some of the key responsibilities of the role may include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing and managing NetApp storage systems including configuration, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Troubleshooting storage-related issues including performance, connectivity, and data integrity.
- Performing regular maintenance activities such as software upgrades, patching, and backup and recovery.
- Developing and implementing disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Collaborating with other IT teams to ensure smooth integration of NetApp storage systems with other infrastructure components, such as DBAs, Linux admins, and VMWare admins.
- Participating in capacity planning and forecasting activities to ensure that the storage infrastructure can meet future demands.
- Keeping up to date with the latest NetApp products and technologies and identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Required Skills:
- At least 8 years of experience as a Backup and Storage Group Multi-Skilled Specialist and Admin
- Extensive experience with Netapp ONTAP, Storage Grid and E-Series.
- Experience with data backup and recovery technologies including NetApp SnapMirror, SnapVault and SnapcCnter, and EMC Networker.
- Knowledge of storage protocols such as NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, and FCP.
- Excellent scripting / automation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with other teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with VMWare, Citrix, Windows, AD.
- Experience with multi-Cloud admin and Linux knowledge an asset.
- Industry recognized certifications in NetApp are a plus.
