Bio
I graduated from University College Dublin, Ireland, with a BSc (Hons) in Experimental Physics. Since then, I’ve gained over 12 years’ experience in Data Management with ICON. I currently work as the Global Head of CDMS and Data Management and Clinical Research Services, managing a team of programmers, database build leads and Clinical Database set-up testers.
Having been with ICON for over a decade, I’ve really had a chance to assess the opportunities that are provided. I’ve had multiple promotion opportunities and have always had the option to apply for roles in other relevant departments and service lines. Working with ICON means receiving a lot of professional training and development, which undoubtedly has brought personal benefits. I’ve been supported to attend a number of external training courses – paid for by ICON as part of their wider education policy.
My day-to-day job varies immensely – often I’ll be working on tough but enjoyable technical challenges while the week after, I may travel to a new location to assist there. My team is filled with people from across the world – helping to create a fantastic working atmosphere where we can all learn from one another. Much of my team have been working together since I first joined – for so many people to stay for 12 years (and counting!) really does demonstrate how enjoyable working at ICON can be.
