Bio
I have been a CRA since 2010 and was attracted to apply for a role at ICON after meeting company representatives at the - 2013 ACRP conference. I was impressed by their enthusiasm and the opportunities available at ICON along with the great work-life balance. The research industry has also always appealed to me, as I have a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry. Prior to being a CRA, I was involved with Clinical Research since 2005 at the site level as well as preclinical genetic research.
Now working as a Senior CRA, I love interacting with a broad range of people in all aspects of the industry on a regular basis. There’s always something new to learn in this role and I’ve even had an opportunity to mentor a few new CRAs during my time with the company. My colleagues are fantastic and there are competitive benefits with a variety of projects to be involved. It’s a really fulfilling environment - I have met quite a few people within ICON who have been working for the company for 10+ years, which is extremely rare in this industry.
Working for a global company expands your networking opportunities and increases the chances for advancement. Within Icon, there are plenty of mentoring opportunities as well as access to courses from oncology to study management.
The types of people who thrive at ICON are approachable team players who are motivated, confident and eager to learn. It’s a fast paced environment with opportunities for continuing education and personal career development.
