 The Contracts Management Group (CMG) is the client/sponsor contracts management function of the ICON Clinical Research (ICR) Division.  The department role is to coordinate, develop, and execute all client/sponsor contracts and change orders for newly awarded and on-going projects at ICON Clinical Research (ICR).

The role of the Contract Analyst I is to coordinate, develop, negotiate, and execute all client/sponsor contracts and change orders for newly awarded and on-going projects.

 

Contracts Analyst role within ICON: 

 

ICON has a strong reputation in our approaches to clinical development.   We apply scientific and operational excellence across all phases of clinical trial outsourcing services for our clients.   We work with top pharmaceutical organizations on emerging therapeutic areas which include but are not limited to Oncology, Vaccines, CNS, Cardiovascular and Pain.  We are presently in over 40 countries with over 80 offices worldwide and over 10K employees globally. 

 

The Contracts Analyst II to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   •         Prior relevant clinical research industry experience.
  •          US/LATAM/CAN:  a minimum of 2 year of experience in proposal development,      contract management, or work related.
  •          Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international.
  •          Understand the operational department’s tasks and roles within the task as well as cost drivers within ICON.
  •          Develop a good working knowledge of ICON’s costing tools, client budget grids, and any tools and templates developed within the contracts management group.
  •          Coordinate, develop, and negotiate contracts and change orders for newly awarded and on-going projects at ICON. 
  •          Solicit input and review of contracts and change orders from the relevant operational departments.
  •          Understand reasons and challenge supporting information provided by the project team related to budget changes (timeline, specifications, tasks, hours, etc) and that the budget changes are reasonable and justified.
  •          Understand legal language contained in a MSA, Letter of Intents, Start-up Agreements, and standalone contracts.
  •          Build relationships with ICON project teams, sales, proposals, finance, project analysis, and ICON management.
  •          Build relationships and understand work practices with clients and other ICON business units.
  •          Lead discussion with ICON Legal, the Sales Team, and liason with their respective Contracts Manager, as necessary, to determine the appropriate terms and conditions to be included in the contracts (inclusive of Letter of Intents and Start-up Agreements) and change orders.
  •          Provide the relevant information, analysis, and recommendation required for negotiations and discussions with clients regarding cost proposals/change orders/contracts to the Contract Manager, the respective Sales personnel, and project teams.

To be successful you will be expected to be proficient in Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and Access). Have good communication skills, be fluent in written and verbal English, detail-oriented and have the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
