Symphony Health is looking to place talented students in an exciting and fast paced summer internship program! 

With this internship, students will have the opportunity to gain invaluable exposure to data science professionals, hands on experience with real time data, and mentoring at a healthcare industry leader in data analytics and technology solutions. 

What will you be doing? 

The Data Science - Medical Informatics Intern will support our Client Advanced Analytics team, including Data Scientists, Business Analysts,  Software Developers, and Consultants, at the intersection of business and technology. Utilizing your interest in data mining and manipulation, building patient cohorts, and abilities in automation, you will help identify gaps in care.      

Some additional responsibilities may include: 

 • Compile and analyze data and prepares reports. 
• Provide administrative assistance in support of special projects. 
• May create and develop presentations. 

What do you have? 

  •   0 – 2 Years of related experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. 

  • Graduate currently pursuing an advanced  degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Analytics, or similar field

  • Exposure to  and knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding strongly preferred 

  • Experience with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel 

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Unix is preferred but not required.

  • R and SAS are preferred, but not required

  • Good organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Read, write and speak English fluently 

  • Availability to work full time
