Director, Immunoassay Services

About the Director, Immunoassay Services role within ICON: 

The Director, Immunoassay Services will have oversight of all Immunoassay Services and serve as the subject matter expert for IA testing including PK, biomarker, immunogenicity and cell-based assays. Will work closely with other members of the bioanalytical management team in setting strategies for the IA section of the lab.  Support business development in the acquisition of new IA business from existing and new clients.  Maintain up-to-date knowledge and analysis of the trends within the IA service offering. Liaise with other IA, LCMS and biomarker groups in ICON to ensure coordinated approach to service offerings across ICON Service Lines.  Ensures that our laboratory staff is providing an unrivalled level of customer service to our clients through proactive communication and interaction with our sponsors.

To succeed you will need:

You will need A Ph.D. or MSc or equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other Biological Science such as Biology, Molecular Biology, or Immunology.  In depth proven (5-7 years) leadership experience working as part of a bioanalytical environment (or equivalent) where there was an emphasis on production of high quality results. 

A thorough understanding of procedures such as antibody production, antibody and protein-binding characterization/screening, and ligand binding assay development and validation are required. Attention to detail and data documentation is essential to this role. Experience of working in a GLP environment is preferred.  Demonstrated expertise working with external partners is desirable. Hands-on experience employing multiple technologies and platforms is desired, including ultrasensitive assay development, and multiplexing technology and validation approaches.  Familiarity with automated liquid handling, including integrated systems such as Grifols and Gyros instrumentation is desired.
