Director, Project Management

As a Director, you will provide leadership to a global team of Project Managers to effectively manage the activities on large, cross functional portfolio of Oncology studies. At ICON, you will be working at the forefront of innovation, collaborating on projects. Our adaptive design expertise underpins our ability to accelerate delivery of new therapies to patients and will broaden your experience in this exciting field.

• Develop full service project plans for portfolio of studies and subsequently lead cross functional study teams in accordance with contractual timelines, client specifications and Good Clinical Practices (GCPs)
• Effectively manage study budgets to ensure financial targets are met through regular review of indirect costs and project resources
• Provide coaching/mentoring to Project Managers (PMs) and contribute to department training initiatives, as appropriate
• Coordinate and manage the activities of individuals, studies and staff in a manner that ensures all timeframes and targets are met and that costs are kept under control
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of cross functional project management plans; risk mitigation strategies, associated action plan and issue resolution
• Collaborate Business Development, attending bid defence meetings and follow-up commercial activities

What you need

• Proven leadership capacities
• Strong, thorough knowledge of clinical development and Project Management practices
• Experience in leading key client relationships, having an oversight of portfolio of work and successfully managing global cross functional projects
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed
• University/Bachelor's Degree in medicine, science or equivalent degree/experience desirable, as is a qualification in Project Management or equivalent (PMI certification)
