Director, Quality Assurance Job Responsibilities:

  • Enabling client oversight models and objectives through implementation of Quality portfolio management activities
  • Provide dedicated primary point of contact within Quality and Compliance for triage, evaluation, and routing of all Quality topics pertinent to the supported portfolio
  • Manage and support routine Quality meetings at all levels of the portfolio i.e. routine QA meetings, Joint Operating Committees, Operational Management Meeting, Executive Oversight Committees, Steering Committees, etc.
  • Provide routine QA metric reporting from ICON Quality Management system including Quality Issues, Corrective and Preventative Actions, Audits, Inspections, Investigations, Serious Breaches, etc.
  • Support Quality Issues, Investigations, Serious Breaches, escalations, audits and inspections impacting assigned client portfolio
  • Provide ICON portfolio teams Quality consultation and guidance during the course of routine activities
  • Communicate outcomes and directives from client Quality meetings to ICON portfolio operational management
  • Assist in risk identification and mitigation activities related to the portfolio operations and activities
  • Support portfolio and team Quality initiatives and improvement activities
  • Lead team improvement initiates and support team leadership in the furthering of the service

  • Lead, develop, grow and manage the Quality Assurance team, ensuring that an effective management structure is in place in the QA Team
  • Proactively ensure that the ICON QMS procedures are updated in line with changes in laws, standards and regulations and to ensure process improvements, and
    business needs are met
  • Serves as the division expert on Quality related matters
  • Provides periodic reports on defined key quality indicators to business operations and upper management
  • In conjunction with the Finance department, prepare the QA department budget and ensure effective cost control
  • Maintains current knowledge base through internal and/or external training, and participates In conjunction with the Finance department, prepare the QA department budget and ensure effective cost control
  • Provides input/support to operational teams on issue resolution and process improvement
  • Professional development through journal articles and by presenting at and attending conferences and professional meetings
  • Provides input in to Global Quality & Compliance Leadership for strategic direction
  • Meets with clients and potential clients when necessary
  • Travel can be up to 25% of the time (international and domestic)
  • Undertake other reasonably related duties as may be assigned.
