Financial Analyst II – (6 month maternity leave contract)
 
Location: Dublin
 
The Strategic Finance Business Partner Group is the project and portfolio financial analysis function related to specific Strategic Accounts of ICON. The successful candidate will be assisting the Manager and Vice President in the preparation of internal and external client reports for one of ICON’s largest clients giving them the opportunity to work in one of the most interesting industries in the world.
Internal reports entail operational and financial analysis designed to assist project operations in improving project profitability. External reports entail data compilation and financial analysis related to study and portfolio client requests.
The successful candidate will also play a key Finance Business Partner support role to senior personnel in other departments such as Project Management, Contracts, Revenue and Accounts Receivable.
 
Job functions
  • Develop, build and prepare external client financial reports related to study and portfolio requests. Requests may entail significant excel-based data compilation and financial analysis.
  • Recommend actions for optimising report performance and understanding financial trends.
  • Assist in developing and preparing monthly reporting package for study team, including timelines, actual vs. budget, trend analysis, forecasting, resource management, and invoicing.
  • Build and maintain study project profitability reports, provide analysis and recommend actions.
  • Prepare presentations for reviews and other purposes using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial and business case analyses.

  • Travel (approximately 5%) domestic and/or international.

  • Experience in financial analysis or financial planning and analysis an advantage.
  • Solid academic record and strong quantitative skills.
  • Effective verbal and written skills to work with peers, managers and Business Lead executives.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee’s location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Driver’s license.
  • Experience using Oracle, and Oracle Reporting Tools, is desirable
  • Must show ability to adapt to new systems quickly and effectively
 
Education:
  • ACCA/ACA Qualified with 1-2 years PQE
