At ICON, we have an incredible opportunity for an expert Legal Assistant to join the team in our team in Mexico City.

The Role

As a Legal Assistant you will support ICON's legal function and providing assistance (legal and administrative) to all business stakeholders in areas of contract, corporate, employment, IP/IT, litigation, insurance and compliance under the direction of Director, Legal Counsel in our Legal group.

• Assisting the legal function in the negotiation of a wide range of general client and vendor commercial contracts (including master services agreements, confidentiality agreements, licensing agreements and collaboration agreements)
• Managing assigned legal projects to completion in an efficient and effective manner and liaising with internal stakeholders around the business for input and support in such projects.
• Managing and prioritizing workload in relation to timelines and client/vendor submissions.
• Assisting with a wide range of legal matters including corporate, employment, IP/IT, litigation, compliance and any other legal matters that arise in the day-to-day operation of the business.
• Engaging and liaising with external counsel and managing the invoice process.
• Undertaking other reasonably related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
• Any other tasks as appropriate.

What you need

• A law degree or masters in law
• Previous experience of commercial law and/or commercial contracts
• Litigation and/or insurance experience is preferred
• Fluent in the English language both verbally and written
• Ability to independently evaluate complex legal concepts/issues and provide commercially focused pragmatic solutions in simple language on all communication mediums to the business.
• Ability to dispense direct and actionable feedback to business stakeholders at all levels tactfully.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly assess potential for risk and opportunity.
• Proven team player with demonstrated leadership, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to synthesize large volumes of information and present concise commercial conclusions and recommendations to the business.
• Strong intrapersonal, organization and time management skills.
• Strong influencing style, articulate and confident.
• Self-starter with the ability to work under their own initiative with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and/or tight timelines in a fluid/fast-paced, highly collaborative, team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across business functions and communicate in a professional manner at all levels within the organization
• Proven discretion, tact and probity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Working knowledge of PC Applications (Excel, Microsoft Word, Windows, etc.).
