Job Description:
This job is onsite, at our Portland, OR, labs

• As a Manager, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.
• Travel (approximately 5%) domestic and/or international. Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee’s location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Driver’s license and passport.
Function and Responsibilities
• * Manages the activities of the sample management department within quality and budgetary guidelines.
• * Act as the main point of contact in all matters regarding our Sample Services, by following up and responding to clinical study specific inquiries from both intra and inter departmental groups.
• * Lead regular review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they remain relevant, current and are being followed in all Sample Management Groups. Recommend policies, procedures and processes to ensure that a high level of efficiency, Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) is maintained.
• * Liaise with clients, vendors and staff on all department issues.
• * Work with supervisors to review and summarize Departmental monthly and quarterly metrics.
• Work with supervisors across each group to assess performance reviews and goal setting activities for the individual Sample Management team members.
• * Inform Managing Director or Director of Sample Management of any significant issues requiring intervention/attention of senior management.
• To undertake other reasonably related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
• To maintain a positive working environment ensuring staff motivation in particular periods of high workloads. To maintain low levels of staff turnover by actively contributing to the retention of key individuals.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Fluency in English both written and oral.
• Accuracy and good attention to detail.
• The ability to work in conformance with standard operating procedure and conditions
• To be able to keep accurate, legible records and recognise the need to handle these records and all other information in line with Good Clinical Practices (GCP).
• To comply with health and safety legislation and be aware of the responsibilities of the employer and following from that, the employee in that context. To be aware of immunisation requirements and the role of occupational health

What You’ll Need:
6 to 9 years experience
Bachelor’s degree
