Lead and coordinate activities related to Referral Laboratory testing including but not limited to, on-boarding Reference Laboratories, operational activities related to technical study setup requirements, contracts with Referral Laboratories, oversight of results reporting, mitigating related issues, and coding of referral laboratory invoices. Coordinate regular operational calls with referral laboratories as well as assisting and coordinate technical calls with client and referral laboratories.
 
SECTION 2:  JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON's values which center around our commitment to People, Clients and Performance.
  • Travel (approximately 5%) domestic and/or international.
  • Responsible for quality monitoring and contracting requirements of the referral labs. Including but not limited to the following: Meeting TAT, ensuring updated certifications and procurement documents are in place and on file.
  • Responsible for overseeing maintenance of the referral laboratory study setup tracker, procurement tracker, and the Referral Laboratory master vendor list.
  • Responsible for ensuring referral lab study setup requirements are accurate, documented as appropriate and information is shared amongst internal and external teams, which includes but is not limited to: confirming sample and reporting requirements, determining sample shipment needs, drafting SOW’s.
  • Additional Administrative duties include; Scheduling and taking meeting minutes for internal and external clients, setting reminders for important dates and distribution of mail.
  • Responsible for triaging email queries related to referral lab testing received from both internal and external parties.
  • Project lead for referral laboratory management department in providing referral lab testing solutions.
  • Assists with creation and documentation of new processes in SOP format for the dept.
SECTION 3:  EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 year’s relevant experience and knowledge of clinical laboratory concepts and terminology.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with internal and external teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks with good organization skills and good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in conformance with standard operating procedure and conditions with a systematic approach to tasks committed to seeing things through to completion.
  • Action oriented demonstrating the ability to handle large work load demands and to trouble shoot issues timely when required.
  • Customer Focused – providing timely, confident, reliable and friendly service to all our internal and external customers.
  • Experience managing vendor-related activities (preferred)
  • Familiarity with GCP Laboratory Regulatory Requirements (CAP, CLIA, NYS, others)
 
SECTION 4:  EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors’ degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
