- Lead all a team of supervisors and their direct reports, instilling a strong customer centric, “can do” culture within the team.
- Responsible for design and establishment of appropriate interaction with all Global Business Services (“GBS”) customers and stakeholders across the organisation ensuring;
- A positive customer experience, progressively enhancing the reputation of the GBS Revenue Recognition function.
- The development of an efficient and effective revenue recognition team, delivering accurate and timely financial data.
- Lead the design, implementation and future development, of a single global revenue team design across all business units and departments of ICON Plc. This will involve:
- close liaison with other Revenue Recognition Managers, as well as other Financial Reporting managers delivering a seamless unified global team vision to all customers, both internal and external;
- planning, implementing and driving the necessary changes, whilst ensuring retention of the best elements of existing process and structure; and
- a constant drive for process improvement and efficiency improvement
- Responsible for the maintenance of standardised global processes (both electronic and human) to recognise revenue;
- in accordance with latest US GAAP & SEC requirements;
- Responsible for team output, specifically:
- Delivery of accurate departmental and regional revenue data in accordance with the Corporate timetable together with a comprehensive analysis for efficient senior GBS management review
- Calculation and completion of forecasted revenue by department and in accordance with Corporate timetable, again with comprehensive analysis for efficient senior GBS management review.
- Delivery of all required audit (both internal and external) documentation and ensuring full and effective compliance with SOX requirements.
- Management of reporting to GBS customers and resolution of queries in an efficient and systematic fashion, as well as determination of the appropriate minimum escalations.
- Develop a close and efficient relationship with the Revenue Risk team, ensure productive input and relevant escalation for their consideration.
- Responsible for implementation of a team structure and process design delivering a standardised revenue recognition process which is both scalable and can be readily deployed across departments, business units, and new acquisitions to deliver an effective and efficient revenue recognition measurement process.
- Mentor and develop direct reports, as well as wider team through the direct reports, minimizing the need for personal involvement in detailed process other than at a supervisory and/or escalation level.
- Design, manage and build the wider revenue team, ensuring a culture of “can do” and constant process improvement in the search for increased efficiency ready adaptation to align to the evolving demands of the wider organization.
- Develop strong team ethos within direct reports, facilitating open communication through a collaborative approach.
- Establish a close working relationship with peer Revenue Managers, ensuring presentation of a single unified global revenue team image to all customers and stakeholders standardization of disparate processes to a single global standard, taking the best case experience from all sources and experience.
- Develop succession planning within directly reporting team to the end that natural successors ready in waiting for own role and that you in turn are a ready successor to your line manager.

- Manage, develop & strengthen the directly reporting Supervisors. This includes people management; performance management; employee relations; training & development; and succession planning.

- Prior experience of shared services and/or management of a diverse multiple customer base
- Prior experience of team management and development, preferably including management of staff located in remote office , multiple and diverse customer base as well as multi-layer management
- Knowledge of US GAAP / SEC Requirements
- Oracle Financials, Revenue recognition experience desirable but not a pre requisite
