Bio
Before joining ICON, I studied towards my BSc in Microbiology at the University of East Anglia. As a fresh graduate with little idea of what direction I wanted my career to go in, I was attracted to ICON’s job advertisement as it listed skills that were utilised during my degree.
I’ve been with ICON for more than four years now and love the constant challenges it gives me, along with the opportunities to push past my comfort zone. I work alongside highly intelligent, driven people, and I think those with a really high attention to detail do well here. We welcome people who pride themselves on the quality of their work, along with anyone who is constantly striving to achieve more.
I started my time at ICON right at the bottom, fresh out of university. In just four years I’ve worked my way up to Lead Systematic Reviewer. The industry is growing really quickly so if you prove you have the capabilities within this group, you will be recognised for your hard work.
ICON has plenty of perks, including a performance-based bonus system, positive culture of development and strong focus on academic quality. We’re problem solvers and don’t hesitate to create new methods and strategies in order to solve a particular problem.
I’ve enjoyed plenty of development opportunities during my time here, including being sent to courses at Glasgow University, Imperial College London and Oxford University. Senior management are supportive of individuals undergoing courses if they can contribute to personal and professional growth.
