- To maintain (and expand) regular contact with current clients and sponsors and to develop relationships with potential new clients.
- To meet annual sales goals and objectives.
- To travel within sales territory and to company meetings as required.
- To initiate and coordinate ICON's RFP response.
- To coordinate with operations for proposal defense meetings.
- Attend and represent ICON at Industry meetings and conferences, as appropriate and budgeted.
- Maintain accurate and current client database by way of Salesforce.
- Provide Weekly reporting of client awards and visits to management.
- To manage costs (e.g. expenses appropriately and to submit claims in a timely manner).
- To positively interact with ICON operations personnel, keeping track of study status for projects with sponsors and support coordination of change orders when notified of a change of scope by Project Managers.
- Assist in preparation and negotiation of contracts.
- Track proposal and pending proposal status.
- Assist in the training of new sales executives.
- Develop leadership and management skills.
- Travel (approximately 60%) domestic and/or international.
- To undertake other reasonably related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
- May supervise other Business Development / Proposal staff as required.
- May provide input on appraisals for any staff supervised.
- Bachelor's level college degree-background in science, marketing or relevant discipline, or local equivalent.
- A minimum of five years' experience selling CRO/Pharmaceutical services.
- Have sound understanding of all aspects of CRO study management.
- Ability to liaise successfully with clients.
- Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employees location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Driver's license
