The Role: Laboratory Supervisor : Molecular Testing/ Experience background
To be successful in the role, you will have:
Laboratory Supervisor:
The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for performing testing, for direct supervision of personnel, and for coordination of day-to day functional operations in the Clinical Laboratory in partnership with Laboratory Manager and Director of Laboratory Operations.
Essential functions include:
o Support and assist managers in the recognition and resolution of technical issues
o Root-cause analyses, communicating recommendations to resolve technology problems
· Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of and Medical Technologist direct reports as assigned
· Conduct/supervise training of other Clinical Laboratory staff
· Perform duties related to the functions of testing, including, but not limited to:
o Testing, data analysis, and creation of test reports
o Documentation of lab process steps
o Assessment of assay performance including controls, calibrators, standards
o Demonstration of strict adherence to all laboratory processes across all phases of testing
o Data review and assistance with troubleshooting of assay non-conformances encountered
by direct report staff
· Raise regulatory/compliance concerns to the Director of Clinical Testing Services, Quality
Control/Quality Assurance Specialist, or Quality Assurance Department
· Model compliance with Clinical Laboratory regulatory policies
Serve in the capacity of general supervisor per 42 CFR 493.1461 when the Laboratory Manager or Director is not on site
· Function as Supervisory Lead in the Clinical Laboratory responsibilities per 42 CFR 493.1495:
Education and Experience:
BA/BS or Masters in Biology or related biological science, Medical Technology or Molecular Biology
· Minimum of six years of experience in a high-complexity laboratory
