ICON Patient Centred Outcomes (PCO) is currently seeking a Lead Outcomes Researcher to join our team!

The Lead Outcomes Researcher will play a key role within ICON’s Patient Centre Outcomes (PCO) group.
ICON’s PCO group provides services geared to elicit high quality patient-centred data to guide healthcare decision-making. Our global PCO group brings together a large team of 50+ Outcomes Research scientists and consultants with expertise in the selection, development, and validation of Patient-reported Outcomes (PROs) and other Clinical Outcomes Assessment (COA) instruments, as well as the analysis of COA data in clinical trials, psychometric studies, and other experimental and observational studies. The group has a deep understanding of the marketplace and regulatory landscapes and helps decision-makers understand the value of patient-centred outcomes and estimate the impact of new health technologies from the patient’s perspective.
We are looking for an individual who is looking to join a consultancy group where research experience is applied within a fast-moving commercial environment. You will have strong experience in an academic or commercial environment, and will have significant experience and interest in development, implementation and analysis of COAs.
You will also have experience of providing leadership and guidance to more junior staff members and of managing both projects and research teams, including day-to-day liaison with clients. As an important contributor to our global team, you will need to be capable of contributing to publications/scientific communications, to demonstrate and actively promote an open and honest working environment, encourage close teamwork and foster knowledge transfer.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree or local equivalent. Post-graduate qualification in a related field preferred (e.g. MSc, PhD/DPhil, Clinical), with speciality in quantitative methods (Statistics, Biometrics, Psychometrics, Economics…)
- Extensive - 10 years+ in Patient-Centered Outcomes
- Experience of both conducting health research and managing research projects.
- Experience of working in a healthcare/consultancy environment, with specific, documented experience in Patient-Centered Outcomes research.
- Demonstrable experience of quantitative research and related technical skills (use of SAS and other relevant statistical package and programming skills where applicable).
