ICON's Late phase, Commercialization and Outcomes division is a market leader providing a range of services to the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device markets spanning Health Economics (HE), Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO), Epidemiology, Pricing and Market Access, Translations and Linguistic Validation, Medical Communications and Real World Evidence.

 

Overview of the role

 

The Senior Outcomes Researcher supports the life cycle of COA projects including leading efforts around study design, project management, data collection, data management, data analysis, data interpretation, and reporting. 

 

 

We are looking for an individual who is looking to join a consultancy group where research experience is applied within a fast-moving commercial environment. You will have experience of conjoint analysis in an academic or commercial environment. You will have experience of providing leadership and guidance to more junior staff members and of managing both projects and research teams, including day-to-day liaison with clients.

 

You will also need to be capable of contributing to publications/scientific communications, to demonstrate and actively promote an open and honest working environment, encourage close teamwork and foster knowledge transfer. 

 

Role Requirements     

  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or local equivalent, in outcomes research or related discipline.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in outcomes research or related field preferred.
  • Extensive academic research experience in a specific outcomes research methodology may offset some of this work experience. 
  • Experience performing qualitative and quantitative analysis with little direction
  • Experience synthesizing one’s own analysis and independently identifying implications
  • Experience leading discussions with clients around project challenges and articulating answers in both written and oral format

  • The candidate recruited for this role will receive external training as well as on the job training from our senior scientists and will be offered opportunities to attend and present at major international conferences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment of peers and leaders, and other colleagues across offices and departments
  • Demonstrated ability to work in custom and/or industry specific technology tools including Endnote, SAS, STATA, etc.
  • Able to deliver portions of oral presentations well. 
  • Collaborative team member, capable of efficient multi-tasking
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze project risks and apply lessons learned across projects.
  • High proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Exce
  • Demonstrated ability to work in custom and/or industry specific technology tools including Endnote, SAS, STATA, etc.
  • Strong understanding of research methods and good clinical practices in context of clients’ needs
  • Basic understanding of psychometric analysis and PRO development and validation
  • Understanding of project processes (electronic and paper filing, SOP requirements, finance office practices, IRB needs, etc.) and implements as required.
  • Knowledge of practical research implementation (IRB process, data collection and management) and with qualitative and quantitative analysis.
