Proposals Development Associate I

ICON is a global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.  This is an excellent new job opportunity to join our successful Proposals team in Business Development at ICON.
 
About Proposals Development Associate I at ICON?
 
As a Proposals Development Associate I you will support Business Development in the winning of new business for ICON through delivery of high quality customer-focused proposals and budgets for the conduct of clinical trials in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
 
In this entry level position, you will focus on delivering our commercial Proposals process, working closely with internal stakeholders across throughout our business (Business Development; Project Management; Clinical Operations; Medical Affairs).
 
Responsibilities will include: 
  • Lead, coordinate and prepare client focused proposals, budgets and client grids for new business opportunities and ensure that the all required information is provided in the final proposal within given timeframe
  • Chair kick-off, budget and strategy meetings as appropriate and coordinate the participation of appropriate personnel in the proposal development process. Liaise with the sales, proposals and operations teams throughout the proposal generation to ensure that the proposal and strategy meets the business needs.
  • Prepare budgets for proposals by interacting with operational departments to coordinate budgets and assumptions. You will also prepare budgets and specifications for contracts for new business awards 
About the ideal person?
 
The successful applicant will be a self-starter who is able to work independently and remain highly motivated in a high-paced, dynamic environment.  You will be able to work well under pressure, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
 
ICON will require our Proposals Development Associate I to have a good working knowledge of computer systems particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
 
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a Science or Business subject would be desirable.  Prior professional experience within the CRO, Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry would be advantageous, although not essential.
 
Ability and willingness to travel at least 5% of the time (international and domestic: fly and drive).
