The Role:
General Summary
Plans, schedules and manages resources to ensure an efficient, optimal and realistic study plan in accordance with study protocol, contract and client expectations and resource availability. Translates the study protocol into a detailed plan/schedule and resources for execution of study procedures, within established budget, in the clinic.
Department
Scheduling translates protocol into a “works list” from where Rostering will make the timesheets for the nurses. You participate in the project teams to gather all information to convert this into a work list as correctly and in a timely manner as possible. To coordinate these optimally together with your colleagues. You do this along with 4 other colleagues.
Primary Responsibilities
• Plans and schedules studies and study activities using resource management tools and systems ensuring qualified staff is scheduled for task execution of study procedures within established budgets.
• Forecasts and/or allocates resources with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency to maintain a balance between maximizing utilization, quality and a realistic workload.
• Monitors resource utilization, redundancies and/or overlap to manage cost and improve job satisfaction of allocated resources leading to increased job retention and better business continuity.
• Translates study protocol, contract and client expectations into a defined plan for what and how many resources are needed.
• Solves complex planning problems, escalates issues when needed.
• Develops weekly planning updates to maintain capacity planning overview and informs management about any capacity and planning issues and mitigation recommendations.
• Advises management on planning constraints and solves the constraints proactively.
• Recommends performance and productivity improvements to optimize utilization of billable staff.
• Suggests changes in protocol/design needed to achieve a higher efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Strong knowledge of company policies, procedures and work instructions
• Strong knowledge of industry procedures and regulations
• Strong knowledge of planning systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
• Strong ability to troubleshoot planning issues across the study environment
Education
Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent
Experience
Fluency in Dutch (and English)
