Business Intelligence Analyst
Location: Hybrid Mexico City - (Insurgentes Sur)

The Role:
The Business and Competitive Intelligence (BCI) team is responsible for gathering, organising, and reporting market and competitor data to inform commercial strategic decision-making.
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our team's mission to drive business development decision-making through data-driven insights. You will be responsible for collecting and analysing data and working with both primary and secondary information sources to provide clear, accurate summaries for key stakeholders. Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping commercial strategy development. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with Business Development and other key functions across the company to drive the development of our company-wide intelligence database. You'll be an expert, champion, and trusted point of contact for the intelligence database across the business, ensuring data consistency and integrity and resolving any issues that arise.
Job Functions/Responsibilities:
Gathering relevant market intelligence, leveraging both internal and external data sources, including industry reports, market research studies
Providing BD with pharma/ biotech/ medtech industry, market, and company research to support account planning
Managing cross-functional projects in areas such as product/regional markets, pipelines, competitors, and other BCI business relevant topics
Ongoing maintenance and housekeeping of the business and competitive intelligence (BCI) database, liaising with multiple functions, including Business Development, Finance, HR, Operations, Marketing and IT.
Providing ‘the best version of the truth’ to stakeholders based on complete and well-organised data enabling informed strategic decision-making.
Liaising with key stakeholders to gather and centralise intelligence and a demonstrated ability to confidently question data received to confirm its validity before including in the database. As needed, taking the appropriate steps to validate information
Becoming an acknowledged expert and trusted point of contact with regard to the BCI database and its contents.
Sharing time sensitive news alerts from reputed pharma/biotech magazines mainly focused on clinical developments and updates; financial overview and outlook; acquisitions and strategic alliances; expansions and leadership changes.
Clear understanding of the impact of industry news on the business, and delivering value added information to all key stakeholders in real-time.
Undertaking ad hoc projects using data from the BCI database and other sources in response to requests by key stakeholders
Ensuring projects are completed within given timelines, taking ownership of the process and the management of the project and maintaining a clear communication pathway with the key stakeholders
Encouraging improved data quality
Supporting the provision of training to fellow team members and key stakeholders
Contributing to development of processes and tools along with other improvement initiatives to improve the efficiency of the Business & Competitive Intelligence department
Extracting relevant information from Salesforce to support BCI activity with an ability to question data and take appropriate steps to validate information
Participating in special projects periodically assigned, in addition to day-to-day duties.
Providing back-up to Business & Competitive Intelligence leadership as required.
What you will need:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Life Sciences preferred but not essential)
Prior experience successfully performing the role of a Business Intelligence Analyst or equivalent (a minimum of 2 years' experience)
Extensive knowledge of CRO, Pharmaceutical or related industry from commercial and clinical development perspectives would be advantageous
Broad level of commercial awareness, and the information needs of different functions within a business.
Self-starter with excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask and prioritise workload in a fast paced dynamic environment
Highly motivated, resilient and enthusiastic team player with an ability to work independently and collaboratively
A can-do, enabling attitude with strong problem-solving skills, and an ability to think creatively
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent numeracy with an ability to analyse data confidently
An understanding of report design and how to convey information to end users in a clear and informative way using tables, graphs and other similar visuals
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and multitask in high-pressure situations
Ability to pay close attention to detail and review own work to ensure a quality product is delivered
Ability to evaluate assigned projects and identify critical issues and questions
Proven track record of delivering projects on time
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft suite of tools including PowerPoint and Word. Intermediate to advanced Excel and VBA skills would be advantageous
Experience in working with pharmaceutical databases (Citeline, Trial trove, Factiva etc.) and the ability to judge their appropriate application to the project.
Data visualisation and analytics experience, for example using Tableau or PowerBI is desirable
Working knowledge of Salesforce.com and its reporting functions
Fluency in English and excellent written English skills are essential
