Clinical Research Consenter/Screener

What will you be doing? 

Human clinical trials are the final stage of research for new medical treatments. Medical breakthroughs rely on willing participation of people who agree to be part of the clinical research studies.

As a Clinical Research Consenter/Screener, you will help with the overall execution of Phase 1 clinical trials by helping study participants fully understand all factors of their involvement in the clinical studies.

You will explain items included in the Informed Consent Forms, and answer any questions. Topics may include:

• the purpose of the trial

• what clinical procedures will be followed

• timelines for study visits

• investigational treatments or procedures

• foreseeable risks and side effects

• confidentiality procedures

• information about any compensation they’ll be entitled to

• restrictions on food and drink

You may also help with screening activities for inclusion and basic medical procedures according to the protocol for specified study participants, including but not limited to: vital signs, Height/Weight/BMI measurements, phlebotomy (straight stick/draw from IV catheters), finger stick blood sugar, ECGs, UA, UDS, urine collection, fecal collection, and pulse oximetry, etc.

What do you need to have?

Required

• Read, write, and speak English

• Thorough understanding of medical terminology and the ability to explain medical procedures

• 1+ years’ work experience in a medical or clinical field

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required

Preferred

• Undergraduate degree in a clinical, health-related area

or

• 2+ years as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medication Aide, Telemetry Technician, EMT, LPN, military medical personnel – Combat Medics, Healthcare Specialists, Hospital Corpsman

**This is a Monday – Friday full-time position (with 1 Saturday per month) from 7:00 am – 330 pm!

**Training will take place Monday – Friday from 7:00 am – 330 pm for the first 4 weeks
