The Role:
As a Cloud Governance Engineer you will be designing and implementing policies and working practices to ensure common standards across a multi-cloud environment.
You will also be driving cost optimization initiatives and review architecture and deployment topologies to ensure optimal cost management, Setup appropriate tools to monitor and enforce compliance to the agreed standards . We are a multi cloud team
Responsibilities:
Should have 4+years of strong experience with Azure.
Continuously drive cloud cost optimization by rightsizing, Optimizing, and use of reserved instance\Saving Plans.
Continuously review and monitor cloud costs. Setup alerting when costs are exceeding expected thresholds. Analyze and make recommendations around costs saving measures. Develop metrics to report on costs and work with stakeholders on budgeting
Assist with the development and creation of policies and architectural standards to set minimum and repeatable standards in the following areas across a given cloud platform: Account Creation, Identity and access management, Cost management, Security, Tagging, Backups, S3 /Storage account policies and Logging policies
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and working procedures (WPs). Training materials, and documentation adhering to industry best practices for AWS, Azure and GCP
Roll out and development of tools across the cloud platforms (AWS, Azure & GCP) to apply policies and monitor compliance across a wide range of accounts and tenants. These tools must be centralized with a view to giving a single pane of glass for ease of use. Setup enforcement mechanisms for policies where necessary
Develop reporting mechanisms to easily demonstrate adherence to cloud policies
Work with the ServiceNow team to implement workflows as appropriate to facilitate automation wherever applicable
Continuously review and update standards according to latest best practice across our multi cloud environment.
On-board and continuously improve upon existing cost and control dashboards and alerting (performance, usage, compliance, etc.)
Collaborate closely with Cloud Delivery Team and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of cloud projects while maintaining compliance with standards.
To succeed you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent relevant work experience; Industry standard certifications preferred.
6+ years of related experience in a technical position supporting cloud based infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Azure. Experience in AWS and GCP is a bonus.
Strong working knowledge of various cloud technologies in at least one of the three major cloud platforms AWS\Azure\GCP. Including items such as: SCPs, landing zones, Control tower, AWS config, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail AWS cost explorer, Azure Policy, Azure Security Centre, Azure monitor, Azure Advisor, Azure API Management, Azure App Services, Azure App Gateway, GCP logging, GCP monitoring. Any third party cost monitoring tool.
Strong experience in cloud cost optimization including, rightsizing, Optimizing, and use of reserved instance\Saving
Strong experience in Azure monitoring solutions
General knowledge of cloud technologies, cloud architecture and cloud deployment
Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel.
