JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide leadership and management of global PVSS employees to ensure project and departmental deliverables are being met on time, within budget limits, and within approved quality levels to support achievement of the department's overall goals and objectives.

  • Be an integral part of the PVSS senior leadership team and take responsibly for global departmental initiatives

  • Manage and develop staff, including quality standards, adequacy of training, job performance/ contributions, work quality and career development.

  • Recognize, exemplify, and adhere to ICON's values, which center on our commitment to People, Clients, and Performance.

  • Takes initiative in the ongoing process improvement for quality and compliance.

  • Act as the first level of escalation for a portfolio of client studies and project

  • Develop, expand and maintain excellent client and internal stakeholder communication and relationships; by collaborating and demonstrating expertise in PVSS process for clients as well as internal cross functional groups

  • Actively participate in proposal development, business development and sales activities to drive department growth

  • Actively review, plan, forecast for proper resourcing for necessary global programs or project's needs, ability to recognize, justify and request participate in hiring and interviewing

  • Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international. None expected during current pandemic.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • 6 years of previous pharmacovigilance/safety experience in a CRO or pharmaceutical setting

  • Experience of people management (including mentoring and development of staff)

  • Oversight of financial data (e.g. project profitability)

  • Excellent communication and client relationship building skills

  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership to deliver quality services.

Preferred:

  • Direct CRO experience

  • Involvement in Business Development (e.g. presentation to new clients, generating quotes)

  • Leading or working on global initiatives

  • Management of globally located staff

  • Both clinical and post-marketing PV experience
