Director, Strategic Project & Process Excellence - New Zealand, Auckland

We are currently seeking a Director, Strategic Project & Process Excellence to join our diverse and dynamic team. The Director, Strategic Project & Process Excellence will support global/cross-functional strategic initiatives, operational projects and process improvement projects. Create project plans, oversee and manage projects through to implementation where required. Provide mentorship and support on projects where required. Working with Subject Matter Experts, analyse and re-design complex processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Work with clients to help identify and implement improvement opportunities. Contribute to the organizational goals by delivering business value through project execution, technology enhancements and process improvements.

- Cultivate Process Improvement Culture: Recognize the importance of and actively promote a culture of process improvement, ensuring that processes are streamlined to maximize efficiency, add value to our business, and meet client needs.
- Project Leadership: Collaborate with leadership to define project scopes, resource requirements, success metrics, and delivery timelines. Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, third-party vendors, and management to achieve project objectives.
- Project Management: Lead and manage assigned projects from concept to implementation, including transitioning to operational owners when necessary. Create, update, and maintain project plans throughout their lifecycle. Schedule and facilitate project team meetings, communicate project status to relevant stakeholders, and escalate issues to management as needed.
- Process Optimization: Conduct workshops with Subject Matter Experts to map current processes, identify issues, and design streamlined processes, improving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Project Support: Provide support for assigned projects, as well as other business-critical initiatives that arise on an ad hoc basis. This may involve leading project teams or mentoring other project leaders.
- Training and Mentorship: Deliver training on Lean Six Sigma methodologies to employees and provide mentorship to those leading process improvement projects. Ensure that employees are equipped with the necessary skills to drive continuous improvement.
- Metrics and Reporting: Offer support and guidance to the business on metrics definition and evaluation, as well as reporting tools. Contribute to data-driven decision-making processes.
- Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Be ready to tackle any other duties as assigned by Senior Management, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the overall success of the organization.
- Travel: Expect approximately 10% domestic and/or international travel as required for project and business needs.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's preferred).
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or related process improvement methodologies.
- Proven experience in project management and process improvement.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
