Executive Principal Pricing & Market Access

Position Profile Summary:

  • Responsible for the overall performance of ACC and its various service lines & functions (Global Medical Communications, Pricing & Market Access, HTA, Creative, Patient Insights & Engagement, US Market Access & Reimbursement, Health Economics, Analytics and Publications)
  • Deliver services against key ICO metrics (sales, productivity, financial P&L) to enable ICON to achieve global growth and an outstanding reputation in the marketplace
  • Supports the Executive Vice President to set and drive the strategic direction for the business while leading the ACC management team to achieve and exceed established goals
  • Subject matter expert in global functions involving commercialization, pricing, HEOR, market access, HTA requirements and medical communications with significant understanding of how to develop solutions involving these topics throughout pre-approval product development and post-approval lifecycle management
  • Member of the ICO Senior Leadership Team, and with other ICO leadership members, is responsible for developing late phase research & alliance operational strategy, policy and direction

Job Description:

  • Lead all operations of ACC and create strategies for growth that align with the overall ICO strategy
  • Responsible for the ACC P&L
  • Build and lead an effective management team and create an environment that supports cross-function service line collaboration to grow strategic and programmatic customer engagements
  • Assess market needs and align internal functions to provide immediate solutions
  • Develop strong internal and external customer relationships to facilitate cross-ICO collaboration and improve win rates
  • Promote an environment that encourages open communication, diversity, respect and allows for the professional development growth of ACC team members
  • Lead ACC thought leadership efforts that result in presentations, posters and workshops being presented at major international conferences, and further develop a social media communication approach to showcase such thought leadership and ACC services
  • Develop clear metrics by which service lines and individuals are objectively measured and evaluated
  • Provide internal strategic guidance on an integrated ACC commercial offering and train the ACC team to translate service integration into sales growth
  • Lead sales strategies and account planning to identify new clients
  • Represent ACC in front of key clients and work closely with ICO Business Development to support the global growth
  • Develop key relationships with customers and where needed, participate on customer steering committees
  • Implement internal delivery processes that allow for effective and efficient development of client work product and is scalable for growth
  • Work with centralized business partners in HR, TA, Finance, Legal, IT, Learning and others, as required, to support ACC
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in all areas of ACC, and advance an environment that encourages the creation of new client solutions
  • Provide strategic contribution for ACC and ICO growth as part of annual strategic planning requirements

Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in ACC service areas
  • Combination of global industry (biopharmaceutical) and service (consulting, agency, med comm) experience
  • Demonstratable experience in conducting ACC functions, at an advanced level, resulting in strategies and work product that results in a brand achieving commercial success
  • Demonstratable experience in people management, business development, operations and financial management
  • Previous experience working in a large service organization, publicly traded organization preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences or related discipline; professional or advanced degree preferred
