This role can be based in Ireland or UK (Swansea) - Office based or remote working.

Key responsibilities;

  • To effectively manage the CDMS development activities for data management studies and for those under his/her jurisdiction in a manner that ensures all timeframes and targets are met to the sponsor’s satisfaction and that costs are kept under control.
  • To function as both an expert and departmental resource for data management technologies, CDMS Development issues and processes.
  • Plan, implement and deliver the CDMS Development portion of a project in accordance with the contract agreed with the sponsor.
  • Take responsibility for a CDMS in terms of system developments, system features, system performance, system upgrades and all activities related to that CDMS.
  • Assign studies, tasks and departmental projects as appropriate within the CDMS group.
  • Proactively identify and manage resource needs to meet project/department timelines.
  • To participate in study team meetings as an ad hoc study team member to advise study team on best approach/tool for data collection, to determine scope and limitations of the study and to discuss edit checks, derivations, testing and reports.
  • Act as escalation point of contact within the department for issues related to the CDMS Development activities.
  • Provide technical support to the data management team including troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Liaise with other managers to improve the effectiveness of the organization
  • Manage and appraise all staff under jurisdiction. This includes the preparation and conduct of staff performance evaluations.
  • Experience in Medidata Rave, Veeva CDMS, Oracle InForm, etc.

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience in Medidata Rave, Veeva CDMS, Oracle InForm, etc.
  • Successfully manage employees in his/her group.
  • Successfully balance multiple projects and timelines.
  • Coordinate and perform all aspects of the functions in his/her group.
  • Liaise successfully with other teams and clients.
  • Responsive to all requests in a timely manner.
  • Extensive problem solving skills for tasks/functions related to his/her group.
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, applications and techniques.
  • Extensive experience in the software development life cycle.
  • Knowledge of database concepts.
