Overview:
The purpose of this position is to assume overall responsibility for management of import and export of all types of clinical trial supplies in a country or a group of counties.
The holder of this position is responsible for management of day-to day operations related to interaction with the regulatory authorities (e.g. Ministry of Healthcare and customs), time- and cost-efficient performance of import / export customs clearance of shipments, resource planning (labor and financial resources) and vendor management.
The holder of this position is responsible for timely and efficient analysis of the local regulatory and infrastructural environment, evaluation of risks and opportunities, investigation of the mistakes made by the subordinate team(s), development of solutions aimed on resolving of the problems and timely reporting of all cases and action plans to senior management.
Responsibilities:
•Set mid-and short-term goals related to import / export activities, vendor management and professional development of team members.
•Oversee team members’ work through analysis of day-to-day operations and the review of dynamics and KPI reports.
•Oversee team member’s communication with clients.
•Manage interaction with the regulatory authorities (including but not limited to Ministry of Healthcare and customs) related to obtaining import or export licenses and import / export customs clearance.
•Manage the internal (team-wide) evaluation of vendors and the study of appropriate markets in the search for service-providers with better cost / quality parameters.
•Manage the vendor approval process (from the position of requestor) including support of audits and coordination of master service agreement reviews.
•Perform investigations into errors made by team members and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
•Monitor regulatory and infrastructural environment, evaluate applicable risks and opportunities, and report cases and conclusions to senior management.
•Preparation of monthly reports.
•Oversee team member’s communication with clients and direct interaction with key stakeholders.
•Evaluate labor resources by analyzing long-term workload statistics, applicable trends and forecasts.
•Develop efficient resource-allocation solutions (labor, financial) between team and vendors
Qualifications:
•Deep knowledge of GMP, GCP, GDP.
•Manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. •Often heads one or more sections or a small department.
•Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
•Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect departments and subordinate sections and work units.
•Interprets company-wide policies and procedures.
•Develops budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
•Master’s degree
•4 or 6 years of experience in the coordination of import / export activities (preferably in clinical trial industry).
•2 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
•Good verbal and written communication skills.
•Advanced level of spoken and written English.
