The Manager of Planning and Resource Management (PRM) will work as a member of the Planning and Resource Management group to ensure timely and appropriate resourcing of Clinical Operations staff to potential, new and existing projects and provide accurate and timely information about current and future staffing needs to ICON senior management.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON's values which center around our commitment to People, Clients and Performance.
- As a Manager, recognize the importance of and create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes, adding value to our business and meeting client needs. Provide leadership and mentoring to other department members, as necessary, and manage other department members, as assigned.
- Determine the names and resumes of proposed study team members, as needed, ensuring that the resumes are accurate, up to date and in good presentation form.
- Upon notification of project award, will facilitate appropriate allocation and assignment of clinical staff to projects, as directed by the Director, PRM.
- Work effectively with senior management, Business Development and all other necessary departments to facilitate proposal development, and timely response to client requests.
- Work with the operational leads towards the accurate and timely maintenance of project requirements and allocation information in the resource management system.
- Generate reports for demand capacity planning, utilization, and other reports as required.
- Maintain effective communication with all relevant stakeholders on resourcing issues.
- Promptly escalate critical resource issues to Director as required.
- Communicate appropriately and effectively with clients, vendors and/or ICON colleagues.
- Travel (<10%) domestic and/or international.
- Other duties assigned.
Experience, Skills, and Requirements

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the clinical research industry with prior management experience.
- Ability to successfully multi-task and liaise with staff and management in operational and service departments.
- Understanding of financial costing, utilization and recovery.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Competent computer skills.
- Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee’s location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Drivers license.
