Procurement Associate

Location: Dublin (Hybrid working - 3 days in the office and 2 days from home)

The Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Associate to join our Procurement team based in Ireland.

The global Procurement team is responsible for overseeing the corporate relationship and performance of vendors contracted in support of clinical trials sponsored by clients to perform services or to provide goods.

 

The Procurement Associate will liaise with vendors, ICON Laboratories, project teams and functional area representatives, as required, to support ICON quality initiatives and other ICON or client deliverables.

 

The Role:

 

Procurement:

  • Category Management and driving global vendor discovery, sourcing and vendor selection
  • Ensuring the execution of policies, procedures and performance metrics to effectively and efficiently manage assigned vendors
  • Building relationships with key vendors

Vendor Management:

  • Category Management for assigned categories/ vendors to meet our customer needs
  • Working with the ICON Legal department to develop vendor Master Service Agreements.
  • Developing strong relationships with key ICON & Vendor stakeholders to ensure appropriate review of vendor contracts ensuring also that all study related contracts are in line with approved client budgets.
  • Negotiating and establishing cost competitive rate cards with key vendors.
  • Managing ongoing reviews of vendor performance & development including continuous assessment of Vendor competitiveness
  • Reviewing new vendor requests and vendor service changes within ICON’s Supplier Management Portal and liaising with requestors to ensure appropriate action is taken.

To be successful in the role, you will ideally have some of:

  • Previous Laboratory experience/knowledge highly desirable
  • Managing global RFI’s (Request for Information) and RFP’s (Request for Proposals or an interest in Proposals Development etc desirable
  • ​Strong organization, administrative skills and keen eye for detail
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel user and good numerical skills
  • Strong team player, business acumen and work ethic
  • Previous experience of processing of Purchase Order's inO’s a fast paced environment.
  • A passion for progressing a career in Procurement
