2D Animator

Location: Georgia, Poland, Bulgaria or South Africa (Remote Working Available)

FIRECREST is part of the ICON plc Group and produces highly visual and engaging products for the Clinical Trial Industry.  FIRECREST products help improve Site performance by delivering innovative and effective training to sites while complying with Industry Standards.  As an organisation responsible for the development of clinical training for medical staff, the 2D Animator role is critical to the delivery of accurate and high quality training products to our clients.

The Role:

The 2D Animator should be a creative and highly motivated professional who is capable of producing world-class graphics and animations for customised training products. The individual should be highly proficient in the latest industry standard design applications and be able to undertake and complete project work within specified deadlines. The 2D Animator should be capable of working on their own initiative as well as part of a cross-functional team.

The 2D Animator role is team orientated. In addition to working as members of cross-functional production teams, graphic designers also operate as part of the wider graphics team, contributing ideas, and taking a proactive role in the continuing development of FIRECREST’s design solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON's values which center around our commitment to People, Clients and Performance.
  • As a member of staff, the employee is expected to embrace and contribute to our culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.
  • Be familiar with all aspects of the graphic design role, style guides, templates, software, and other platforms relevant to the job.
  • Work with the Clinical Trial Subject Matter Expert (CTSME) and Instructional Designer (ID) to gain an understanding of complex project content.
  • Work with ID and CT SME to ensure scripts flows smoothly from a graphics/animation point of view.
  • Create storyboards, in collaboration with team, that clearly and effectively explain the content, ensuring that all screens are consistent with the approach set out in templates and style guide.
  • Using agreed storyboards, create training courses that are instructionally effective, present the information in an engaging manner, flow well, and hold the learner’s attention throughout.
  • Complete on-screen reviews (OSRs) with team, identify and implement updates that will maximise the quality of the final training course.
  • Implement client edits and, where possible, use these edits to identify potential product improvements.
  • Complete all tasks to a high standard within the timelines agreed with the Project Manager.
  • Develop graphics for other FIRECREST products and complete any additional tasks to a high standard.
  • Contribute to ongoing product development in FIRECREST, with particular focus on the approach to graphics/animations.
  • Mentor and help train new members of the team, where required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or local equivalent in Graphic Design, Animation, or related qualification.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Prior relevant experience in graphic design, preferably in the area of e-learning and/or UX.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Animate, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Excellent design, illustration and animation skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualise, and visually describe complex and intricate content.
  • Willingness to assume individual responsibility for own deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organization and communication skills a key advantage.
