Associate Creative Director

The Associate Creative Director will be responsible for managing a team within the Creative Services (CS) Department and relevant workloads. Reports will be both local and remote serving the purpose of processing all in-house creative, design and production needs within a timely manner and meeting department quality standards.

As an associate creative director you will be responsible for partnering with our internal teams and clients on strategy, design, and execution of innovative healthcare and pharmaceutical initiatives. The associate creative director must possess the ability to create cutting-edge concepts or designs that are user-friendly, representative of the client's goals, and within brand guidelines.

Given the nature of the work, you will at times be asked to be flexible and to offer extended support outside of your normal working hours to meet the business needs. This may also include weekend work and travel.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and brainstorm innovative brand solutions
• Create sketches or storyboards that convey relevant and strategic concepts
• Review deliverables associated with a project, provide feedback as needed
• Present work, provide design rationale, and defend work in creative reviews or meetings 
• Partner with the Account and cross-functional team leaders to manage clients
• Actively participate in new business pitches when possible
• Develop leadership skills through mentoring and training
• Mentor team of designers - manage their performance and career development
• Own small, medium and large projects
• Responsible for working closely with account staff and content to ensure accurate placement and review of content
• Implement effective solutions to increase efficiencies through evolving best practices and proactive creative support
• Work closely with Traffic Managers and account teams to organize and effectively manage your work load to meet client deadlines and expectations
• Partner with client services to establish timelines, schedules, scopes and budgets, encourage adherence
• Stay abreast of technology and industry trends
• Stay abreast of pharmaceutical and healthcare marketing trends
• Able to work under your own initiative or as part of a larger team Expert knowledge of style sheets, master pages, heavy typesetting
• Expert knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat
• Basic knowledge of PowerPoint, Word & Excel
• Knowledge of HTML, Flash, Java Script & Dreamweaver
• Photography & video editing experience helpful
• PC and Mac Platforms

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages one (1) or more employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these Creative Services employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, directing and prioritizing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; coaching; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

To Succeed You Will Need:

• 4+ years industry experience
• Degree in Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, or a related course of study
• Strong creative portfolio
• Ability to command different visual styles/tones using latest creative software
• Bachelor Degree in related field
• Understanding of in-house creative team and related dynamics
• Agency and Pharma experience is a plus
