Firecrest Clinical provides a number of web delivered Clinical Technology products and Solutions to the Clinical Trial and Pharmaceutical Industries. Its clients include 10 out of the top 12 global Pharma companies and is rapidly becoming the industry standard in the successful management of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) during the lifetime of the Clinical Trial. The company is in an active growth stage during the market roll out of its innovative products.
Headcount has more than doubled over the past 2 years with continued growth planned in Limerick, Dublin, the US and APAC.

Position Summary
 
The Automated Test Engineer is a critical role within the software department responsible for delivering automated test solutions to support our innovative suite of web based and mobile software solutions. This role will give you the opportunity to work for a global leader in the clinical trials industry, within an exciting and flexible environment embracing the latest technologies and work practices.
 
The Automated Test Engineer will lead the software test effort within their assigned agile team, ensuring all functionality delivered by the team is fully tested and of the highest quality. They will work with the team to develop the best solution that meets the business need and drive the overall quality in all team deliverables. The Automated Test Engineer will support the team’s efforts to be high performing by driving continuous improvement within the quality and test activities of the software development process.
 
By working within an Agile Team, the Automated Test Engineer will benefit from working closely with a diverse range of talented personnel, such as graphic designers, software developers, validation engineers and business owners.  They will work with their peers within other agile teams by sharing knowledge and collectively enhancing the overall automated test framework that supports the software department goals of being able to continuously deliver quality features and enhancements for both new and existing systems within short timeframes. 
 
Role Responsibility
 
·         Create, manage and execute automated tests on internally developed software components
 
·         Support final validation/ user acceptance test execution before software is deployed to the customer
 
·         Create and maintain all required test documentation deliverables (Test Cases, Validation Plans etc)
 
·         Review software requirements documentation
 
·         Provide the team with accurate and precise estimates for assigned task duration, along with risk levels and foreseeable dependencies.
 
·         Drive issue resolution for bugs identified during internal and customer reviews ensuring issues have been recorded, prioritised, assigned and tracked  to closure
 
·         Identify error patterns as well as drive root cause analysis on issues
 
·         Identify, develop and maintain standards with regard to automated test suite
 
·         Drive post-project evaluations and lessons learned
 
·         Ensure the project has been conducted according to the Quality process and project methodology.
 
·         Provide leadership within the Agile Team in all quality and test activities
 
·         Provide instruction and guidance to new and junior test engineers. 


Experience and Qualification
 
·         Experience with some of the following:
·         Test Automation Tools (Robot Framework, Selenium or similar)
·         Python Script
·         JAVA Script
·         XML 
·         SQL
·         Testing websites or web applications in multiple browsers
·         Testing mobile applications.
·         Proficiency in establishing/documenting/executing test strategies/plans/cases from business and functional requirements.
·         Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in cross-functional project teams
·         Ability to act on your own initiative and be a self-starter.
·         Familiarity with different phases of SDLC and Testing Methodologies.
·         Experience with Agile development methodologies (SCRUM etc)
·         3rd level qualification in technology or software development disciplines
