The Role:
Applies medical expertise in assessing potential study participants for participation in ICON’s clinical research trials. Participates as a member of ICON’s medical investigator team and works collaboratively with other ICON team members to preserve and protect research subject safety.
Participates as a member of ICON’s medical team, serving in the role of study Investigator, under the direction of ICON’s Medical Director by:
Performing screening assessments including physical examinations, medical history review; reviews results of diagnostics studies, evaluates subjects with regard to suitability for clinical research studies
Counsels subjects with regards to abnormal and/or exclusionary diagnostic results, as necessary
Accurately completes source documents
Demonstrates legible handwriting
Applies expert medical knowledge to monitor subjects selected for participation in ICON’s clinical research studies;
Provides medical care and emergency care for study subjects, as necessary
Maintains certifications for BLS and ACLS
Achieves and/or maintains Board certifications
Maintains knowledge/skills/proficiency with regard to clinical evaluations, ECG and diagnostic study interpretive abilities
Demonstrates up-to-date, accurate, working knowledge of ICON’s Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and details of study-specific protocols to ensure regulatory compliance.
Executes duties responsibly and ethically to ensure ethical conduct of clinical research studies at ICON.
Performs duties accurately and within timelines to avoid unnecessary wastage of valuable resources.
Contributes to a constructive and collaborative culture within ICON’s medical team and interactions with other ICON personnel.
Displays positive role model as leader of healthcare team at ICON.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
D.O. or M.D. with active license in the applicable working area/country; ability to be and remain insured by ICON’s medical malpractice provider.
Read, write and speak fluent English; fluent in host country language required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills required.
Preferred board certification in primary care or internal medicine.
1-2 years’ experience conducting clinical research including familiarity with ICH and GCP requirements, preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of internship or residency/internship satisfactorily completed
