Compliance Associate Director, Biosamples – Oncology Division (UK, home-based)

Here in the ICON Strategic Solutions team, we are in an established partnership with a primary multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company to supply a permanent, full-time, UK-based Compliance Associate Director.

Amongst other tasks, your main responsibilities will be to; 

• Review and advise on use of Human Biological Samples (HBS) in accordance with patient consent.
• Lead the identification and establishment of effective HBS compliance procedures across R&D.
• Manage HBS processes to ensure standards are adhered to and compliance requirements are consistently applied for use of HBS in research.
• Support the business with compliant use of HBS through expert advice and decision making
• Monitor the effectiveness of HBS due diligence processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support approval of HBS suppliers and orders to deliver timely and effective decisions
• Act as subject matter expert, reviewing informed consents and making recommendations on HBS use

Strong experience working in a clinical research monitoring capacity, and residing within the UK (with appropriate right-to-work in the UK already granted, if applicable)

• Experience in the review of ICFs regarding use of Human Biological Samples
• Experience in pharmaceuticals, a healthcare related industry or academia/hospital environment related to HBS
• High ethical standards, willingness to challenge inappropriate proposals/actions of senior leaders
• Knowledge of HBS regulations, laws and standards - (HBS)
• Experience in collection and use of HBS as part of ongoing clinical trials
• Expert in relevant global regulations relating to HBS
