ICON University is seeking to hire a Director of Learning Systems / Technology to drive and manage its Learning technology strategy. Reporting to the VP of Icon University, the successful candidate will set the agenda for the design and roll out of learning technology systems to support the delivery and evaluation of a range of face to face, online and blended learning solutions, and manage the operation of our learning technology infrastructure. *LI-MB1

 

The successful candidate will have a strong background in enterprise application development, delivery and management in a Global corporate context, familiarity with a range of Learning, HR and Talent Management systems, a deep understanding of learning and learning delivery, and the ability to design and think innovatively in the learning technology space

 
Role responsibilities:
  • Define and implement a vision for ICON’s learning technology strategy and ecosystem. 
  • Manage immediate roll out of Learning Management System upgrade, define and drive development of Icon University Web Portal. 
  • Design, procure funding and and deliver some/all of Content Management System, Assessment and Evaluation system, Virtual Classroom capability, Social Learning Platform, mLearning capability, media and content hosting capability etc in accordance with Icon Universities  learning technology strategy and wider Icon learning delivery needs.
  • Partner with relevant teams to ensure seamless delivery and operation of learning technology systems, including partnering with IT services and other technology owners in ICON (Firecrest, Technology Innovation team, Communications and Marketing) and look for areas of potential overlap/collaboration
  • Manage the learning systems administration team and ensure effective operation of all learning systems
  • Work with learning design, business partners and the wider Icon University team to define technology requirements and drive learning technology innovation at ICON
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Minimum 7 years managing Learning, HR or Talent systems in a corporate context.
  • Has designed and overseen the implementation of large scale enterprise learning solutions, especially in the HR or Talent space. Highly experienced in systems and software development methodologies and practices.
  • Familiar with a range of relevant learning-related systems and solutions (LMS, CMS, Social platforms, Web Classroom/vILT solutions, Knowledge management systems, Assessment and Evaluation solutions, Mobile Learning solutions etc)
  • Expertise in a range of standard technologies including some/all of web technologies (html5, xml, javascript, JSON etc), learning technology standards (SCORM, Tin Can/xAPI), databases and related technologies (SQL etc), open source platforms and solutions etc.
  • Familiar with wider HR and Talent systems, including experience of data and related systems integration practices
  • Up to speed on latest innovations in learning technology (for example Immersive and AR-based simulations, location-based approaches, adaptive technologies, analytics and data-driven learning, tags, wearables and devices etc)
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Exceptional people management, leadership, communication, negotiation and advocacy skills
Education Requirement:
  • BA, BSc degree in Computer Science, IT systems, Learning Technology or similar
  • Masters Degree or higher in Information Systems, Business Systems Management, IT
