Epidemiologist
Location: Stockholm, Sweden or London/ Abingdon, U.K.
We are currently seeking an Epidemiologist to join our team within the Epidemiology Practice in the EU.
The epidemiology team works on a range of disease areas and study designs. We undertake studies to characterize treatment patterns, disease natural history, burden of illness, disease transmission, relative efficacy, real-world effectiveness and safety, and benefit-risk. We use a variety of study designs to obtain these estimates, including prospective and retrospective data collection; analysis of clinical and administrative databases; and systematic literature review.

The Epidemiologist will project manage study sites, provide statistical and methodological expertise relating to the design and conduct of studies, will perform the analyses, data collection material and will contribute to reporting and interpreting the findings.
This role offers the opportunity to work in this exciting and influential field, combining cutting edge epidemiology with health economics to inform Health Technology Assessment and Policy making. We work with a broad range of clients from across the pharmaceutical industry and many of our analyses are used to inform national public health policy decisions.
The candidate recruited for this role will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the department’s work and particularly to further their own skills in epidemiological and related analyses.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics or Public health, or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with several years’ work experience related to this role.
- Proficiency in SAS programming is required
- Relevant experience working on observational studies in a related environment will be preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills including written and verbal communication
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task efficiently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills
This role will require an individual who is able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and rapidly absorb information on different disease areas.
- Relevant work experience
- A strong desire to learn and gain a deep understanding of the work of the department
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility and a willingness to respond to the needs of the department
- An interest in health care decision making.
The following would be beneficial, but are not essential:
- Proficient in Bayesian statistics
- Familiar with SQL, Stata, WinBUGS
