Head of Global Medical Writing & Publishing

ICON are searching for a new leader to manage the Medical Writing and Publishing group globally. This is a rare opportunity to join a global growing company and lead a phenomenal team of writers.

The role:

As head of the group you will manage all aspects of the Medical Writing department to ensure successful performance in each of the following areas:

• Monitor the financial performance of the MW department
• Monitor the technical performance of the MW group
• Ensure that Business Development receive appropriate Medical Writing assistance in the preparation of proposals and cost estimates for medical writing tasks, and required representation at client meetings, (e.g. capabilities presentations or proposal defence meetings)
• Ensure that the MW department headcount matches the ongoing and budgeted workload

Requirements:

• Significant proven experience in a CRO or pharmaceutical company.
• In-depth, proven experience within Medical Writing
• Extensive management experience, preferably in Medical Writing in a CRO or pharmaceutical company
• Broad experience of pharmaceutical document preparation.
• Ability to understand and interpret clinical data.
• Complete knowledge of the medical writing industry.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills, problem-solving ability, data‑interpretation skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to plan and organise, and management skills.
• High degree of self-motivation.
• Global minded co-operative attitude and business aware.
• Leadership ability and proven people management experience.
• Post-graduate life science qualification or Medical degree
