Health Economic - modeller/statistician
 
ICON Health Economics & Epidemiology (HE) is currently seeking a Health Economic Modeller/ Statistician to join our Health Economics group based in Oxford. This team is highly respected in the field of health technology assessment (HTA) for the quality of their work and methodological innovations. Our research is frequently used to support decision making at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in the UK.
 
The candidate recruited for this role will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the department’s work and, in particular to utilise and develop their skills in decision modelling and related statistical analyses.
We also have a small team of highly respected infectious diseases modellers. Candidates with appropriate skills and interests would have the opportunity to contribute towards this exciting work stream.

Our Health Economics group has offices in Oxford and London (UK), New Jersey, and Los Angeles (USA), Vancouver and Toronto (Canada). We are respected globally for the quality and innovation of our work, undertaking consultancy projects for international clients in both the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
 
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Master’s degree, or equivalent, in health economics, medical statistics, management science or econometrics
  • A genuine interest in HTA and economic evaluation methods and applications
  • Experience with evaluation of health technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel® and ideally familiarity with one or more statistical packages (R, STATA, SAS, WinBUGs)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • A strong desire to learn and to gain a deep understanding of the work of the group
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team with a high degree of self-motivation
  • Leadership potential
 We are committed to supporting the growth and development of the health economics team. As such, the candidate recruited for this role will receive external training as well as on the job training from our senior scientists and be offered opportunities to attend and present at major international conferences (health economic and clinical).

This is a permanent, full time position. The salary is competitive and negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a competitive benefits package to the successful candidate including private health and an attractive pension plan. The role will be UK-based in our Oxford office.
