The Lead will manage and coordinate all assigned IT GBS Process Excellence initiatives. To contribute to the organisational goals by delivering business value through use of technologies and process improvements. To be part of the Strategic Projects & Process Excellence team and be part of the team leading CIO level strategic initiatives.
Job Functions/ Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the role are:
IT Strategic Projects
- Build and maintain a portfolio view of the strategic projects with the IT function
- Be part of the delivery process for IT Strategic projects.
IT Process Excellence
- Build, lead and maintain process excellence initiatives with the IT GBS function
- Drive the education, mentoring and leading of process improvement methodologies and initiatives across the IT GBS and other services lines within ICON.
Business Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain a relationship with key business leaders to facilitate effective communication between the business and IT functions
- Be part of the team providing the point of escalation between the business and IT for strategic projects and process excellence issues that cannot be resolved through the normal channels
IT Business Strategy:
- Ensure that IT Strategy aligns with, enables and influences business goals
- Identify opportunities to add value through use of technology (innovation) & work with IT functions to pilot new ideas
Project Initiation:
- Partner with the business to define investment opportunities (concepts) focusing on the “what” and “why”, rather than the how
- Partner with IT GBS and the business leadership to finalise project proposals for approval, complying with appropriate IT PMO processes
Portfolio Management:
- Partner with functions to prioritise proposed IT investments within agreed budgets
- Maintain oversight of all projects for function. Work with IT PMO to remediate projects and process improvement that are off track
IT Service Delivery
- Ensure appropriate IT operational service level for division(s) are set, agreed and achieved through the establishment and executional of operational metrics.
- Work with IT Operations to resolve any IT service level issues related to division(s)
Other
– Assist in the definition and prioritisation of the strategic project and process excellence roadmap for division(s) and align with IT strategy and corporate goals
– Assist business leadership in the development and submission of business cases for IT investments ensuring all necessary IT functions are engaged
– Work effectively with internal and external clients, third party vendors and Executive Management/Senior Management in accomplishing project objectives
– Evaluate complex situations accurately and identify creative solutions that create successful outcomes for the customer

EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • 8+ years of IT and business experience in strategic planning, development, implementation of leading medium to large scale cross functional projects and process improvements.
• Extensive impact and influence skills, including cross boundary collaboration
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and influencing skills plus the ability to drive results through others (both internal and external)
• Analytical problem solving skills and the ability to identify essential issues in complex technical and business problems.
• Project Management proficiency particularly in the area of large scale IT projects
• Process improvement experience with a focus on continued streamlining processes
• Outstanding issue management and resolutions skills
• Confidence in self and organization and a “can do” attitude.
• Highly self-motivated and able to work effectively with different divisions and levels.
• Proven ability to build and develop cross functional business relationships vital to the success of a project or process improvement.
• Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international may be required.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering or equivalent work experience required
• Project Management Accredited Courses is an advantage
• Lean Six Sigma certified
