Laboratory Assistant

If you have experience handling biological lab specimens and prepping samples for delivery to a clinical laboratory; learn how you can play a key role as Laboratory Assistant for ICON Laboratory Services which is dedicated exclusively to central laboratory testing and the associate services for clinical trials.

Any previous experience in Flow Cytometry, PBMC Isolation or Circulating Tumour cells would be advantageous but not essential.

The Role:

• Sample Processing: Simple processing for plasma and buffy-coat bio-banking.
• Testing Support: Flow Cytometry Experiment Set Up, Compensation, Buffer preparation and Lot to Lot testing.
• Sample Handling: Monitoring samples/Troubleshooting discrepancies, Storage and Discards.
• Reagent Inventory: Stock take, ordering, invoice coding.
• Maintenance: Fridge Freezers, Instrument linearities and Levey Jennings reports.
• Data Transfers: Upload of raw data to secure servers for Sponsor review.
• Administrative: Searching and retrieving documents and samples. Performing data entry/Monitoring e-mails and various correspondences.
   

To be successful in the role:

• You will possess a Bachelor of Science degree (preferred focus on cellular or clinical biology) along with 1 year of related laboratory experience.
• You will have a strong focus on quality and standardised processes.
• You will have a strong aptitude for learning new technical processes.
• You will have a good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office along with excellent written/verbal communication skills, the ability to handle large workload demands and trouble shoot issues in a timely manner when required.
• Exhibit appropriate time management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to keep accurate, legible records and recognize the need to handle these records and all other information in line with GCP/GLP/GDP.
