Paid media and advertising specialist at ICON

The successful candidate will join the Digital Operations team, reporting to the Digital Operations Marketing Manager. It’s an exciting time to join a growing team of digital marketing professionals. You will drive the day-to-day management of paid media planning for search engine, paid social media and display advertising, working closely with our external agencies, industry partners and senior members of the wider Marketing team.

This role is based in Sofia, Bulgaria and the successful candidate will be expected to work at the ICON office in Sofia three days a week as part of an agreed hybrid working arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Digital Marketing Operations Manager to implement a paid search strategy and grow year on year paid search traffic and paid social media metrics, increase spend efficiency and drive paid media operational improvements across digital channels.
  • Support Marketing Managers and external digital agency to plan digital marketing campaigns, including search, paid social media and display advertising.
  • Conduct in-depth keyword and website research, ad grouping, and audience targeting during campaigns using tools like SEMrush.
  • Prepare landing page recommendations to share with campaign managers and website publishing manager.  
  • Collaborate with the internal writing team and external digital agency in the writing of engaging ad copy for a variety of platforms. Work with our design team to develop asset creatives for ad campaigns including options for creative and ad copy tests.
  • Strengthen the relationship with the external digital agency to define, measure, and evaluate relevant paid media KPIs and metrics. This will include providing feedback to our digital media agency team who are responsible for campaign build and execution.
  • Stay up to date with paid media industry trends and best practices including privacy and GDPR.
  • Collaborate with the Analytics Manager to leverage internal data analytics, industry insights, market trends, and the competitive landscape to make data-driven recommendations for improvements to future paid campaigns.
  • Conduct regular monitoring of performance by analysing data, producing reports and communicating results to various levels of internal and external stakeholders.

To succeed you will need:

  • Two years plus experience in designing, building, and optimising paid media campaigns in a similar role with a brand or agency background.
  • Experience in supporting, developing, executing, and managing digital paid marketing campaigns.
  • Proven track record of executing paid search marketing and paid social media campaigns. Demonstrate examples involving budgeting, improving key metrics and contribution to marketing ROI.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to clearly communicate results, key learnings, and areas of opportunities to Digital Marketing Operations Manager.
  • A pro-active attitude to take on new challenges and projects.
  • Strong copywriting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
