Nurse Practitioner San Antonio TX Full Time Perm

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. The Physician Extender will have responsibility for the delivery of direct and indirect care for research studies undertaken in the clinical research unit, in accordance with the ICON standard operating procedures, the clinical trial protocol, Food and Drug Administration, Good Clinical Practice, International Conference on Harmonization Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and the Clinical Trials Directive, Medicines for Human Use Act Statute No 1928 as appropriate.

Overview of the Role

·         Assist in the screening and selection of volunteers for studies. 

·         The position will work closely with the screening/recruitment department, the physician group and clinical unit staff to ensure that studies are recruited. 

·         This position is also designed to assist in the  in the effective running of research studies on a day-to-day basis maintaining the confidentiality, safety and wellbeing of study participants and utilizing skill knowledge and judgment to provide a high standard of care while maintaining dignity and respect at all times.

 Role Requirements / Skills / Experience Required

·         Licensure Nurse Practitioner

·         High School Diploma or local equivalent.

·         A Minimum of one year’s physician assistant or nurse practitioner experience.

·         ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred.

·         Knowledge of specialized medical / scientific terminology
