Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of enterprise servers and components and related technologies in support of core organizational functions. Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in support of business processing requirements.
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
. Demonstrated ability in being a major participant and/or lead for projects based on IT initiatives. Ownership of key tasks/milestones to achieve a successful implementation/closure
. Exemplifies an attitude of ownership and accountability with regards to the responsibilities of the role and works to build this mindset with others on the team.
. Provides expert technical support across multiple enterprise technologies -acts as the subject matter expert on one or more technologies.
. Research software and systems products and technologies to justify recommendations and support purchasing efforts.
. Coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server and core infrastructure services environment.
. Act as an escalation point for Service desk tickets.
. Planning, coordination, and implementation of server/storage/technology installations, upgrades, routine maintenance and vendor-supplied patches in accordance with established Information Technology (IT) policies and procedures.
. Proactively monitors and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels; provide performance statistics and reports.
. Provide timely response to escalations in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs); act as technical escalation and resource to junior team members.
. Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure. Act as an escalation point for team members supporting these technologies.
. Define and implement strategies for integrating disparate operating environments.
. Design and review of new server systems, applications and hardware; architect the server infrastructure required to support these projects.
. Coordinate and collaborate with other functional areas within IT to ensure availability, reliability and scalability of corporate servers to meet business requirements.
. Provide off hours support through the use of a rotating on call procedure
. Special projects as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
. In depth proven experience in a technical position supporting server environments required..
. A history of individual contribution to successful projects which may include leadership type activities.
. Strong working knowledge of various technologies including items such as: Windows Operating Systems, Citrix XenApp, Exchange 2010, Microsoft Clustering, Powershell, VMware ESX/ESXi/View, DNS, DHCP, What's up Gold.
. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware and associated equipment.
. General knowledge of storage technologies such as storage area network (SAN) or Network-attached storage (NAS) as well as Unix based operating systems.
. Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee's location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Drivers license.
EDUCATION
. Bachelor's Degree, or local equivalent, in related field or equivalent relevant work experience; Industry standard certifications preferred.
