This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.  The selected candidate will help to compile and process bi-weekly payroll (including Canadian payroll), weekly direct deposit expense data and maintain records by performing various duties.  Will register and maintain state and local taxing jurisdictions.

 

 

Overview of the Role

  • Collect, compile, and enter necessary data into PeopleSoft and ADP systems (US and Canada). Examples would include new hire, termination, transfer, salary changes, tax changes, and direct deposits
  • Calculate new hire, termination, vacation, and personal pay
  • Check all interfaces to and from PeopleSoft and ADP including paperwork received during the payroll cycle
  • Confirm and process all deductions and adjustments
  • Ensure increases are correct and calculate any retroactive pay
  • Collect, calculate, and enter hourly time sheets into ADP batches
  • Transfer employees between payroll companies
  • Complete journal entries for appropriate Finance Department with the timeframe submitted by the Finance Department
  • Set up and run reports from ADP using Reportsmith software
  • Check all completed payrolls for accuracy
  • Employment and Mortgage verifications within 3 business days
  • Manual check calculation through ADP
  • Answer employee requests and inquiries in a timely manner
  • Perform any other payroll duties as necessary or assigned
  • Maintaining and downloading TimeSaver system
  • Filing of Payroll documentation, paperwork, etc.

Role Requirements / Skills / Experience Required

 

  • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) from a college or university desired
  • Minimum of four years related payroll experience in a multi-state high volume environment.
  • Ability to register and maintain state and local taxing jurisdictions.
  • Experience with Canadian payroll preferred.
  • Knowledge of Database software, Human Resource systems (PeopleSoft), ADP Payroll system (PCPW), ADP TimeSaver, and proficient in Excel and Word.          
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.
