The Performance and Reward Specialist will ensure that Global Equity programs run smoothly and are maintained in compliance with company, accounting and legal requirements. *LI-MB1
 
The position is responsible for all aspects of Share Plan Management in almost 40 Countries in conjunction with our stock plan administration partner, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (MSSB), and for ensuring that all Tax Filing and Accounting rules are complied with, disclosures in financial statements are accurate, and that close period calendars are communicated and adhered to. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain MSSB stock plan database integrity and ensure accuracy of recordkeeping of equity data
  • Working with internal finance teams and external advisers to ensure compliance with tax filing and payment obligations globally; in countries where RSUs or Stock Options have been awarded, and provision of audit defence support as required
  • Develop and maintain stock plan processes including stock grants, exercises, replenishment, lapses, and reporting of payroll and taxes (including Restricted Stock Units, Performance Share Units and Stock Options)
  • Ensure robust checks and balances for all plan activities are in place and maintained
  • Keep up to date and interpret Legislative and Tax developments such as security and tax regulations and government legislation with a view to developing practical solutions to maintain ICON's reputation and compliance
  • Work closely with  internal Legal, Finance and Payroll teams globally to manage stock transactions and ensure appropriate approvals are in place
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • Professional Accounting/Tax qualification preferred
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Recently Qualified or Part qualified Accountant/Tax Professional with an excellent academic background
  • Background working with a Big 4 practice or within the tax function of a PLC/MNC with a minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience; or equivalent transferable experience in a tax/accounting role.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Exceptionally resourceful, detail and customer-service oriented
  • Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams, including Legal, HR, Tax, Payroll, Accounting and Financial Reporting
  • Experience working with different types of Equity Plans in both private and public companies is  a distinct advantage
  • Experience working with a third party recordkeeping system, particularly MSSB Sapphire, a distinct advantage
