Global Procurement Systems – Role Description
This challenging new position within Global Procurement and is expected to play a leading role within Procurement, ICON Functions and its Business Partners. This is to manage and deliver upon innovative solutions in an environment of continuous improvement.
Demonstrable and extensive Project Management of cross functional and vendor projects, working with customers including planning, process development, process improvement, cost and delivery management is essential.


Procurement Responsibilities:
•                    By driving the best financial solutions and continuous improvement initiatives globally across the entire company including streamlining our process.
•                    Assisting in developing, specifying, implementing and operating a new Procure to Pay ERP solution to support Global Procurement activities.
Vendor Development Responsibilities:
•                    By managing projects that improve the overall performance of global Vendor/Partner Management including Delivery, Quality, Cost Control and Supplier Relationships supporting vendor selection & vendor development.
General Responsibilities:
•                    Project management within the function consistent with the company SOPs, Regulations, ICON Policies & Values.
•                    Be responsible for being the subject matterexpert on the new Procure to Pay ERP solution.
•                    Be responsible for delivering and managing cost saving projects.
•                    To support the development of key strategies & policies supporting the global Procurement. This is including agreed Goals & Key Performance Indicators in meeting the needs of the global business within a process of continuous improvement and meeting both internal & external customer’s needs.
Project Management Responsibilities:
•                    Identify and deliver cost savings across a range of categories within ICON.
•                    Tailor and apply project management related tools to facilitate efficient project management of Procurement and cost saving activities plus improvement with other stake-holders.
•                    Have overall responsibility for meeting project milestones and keeping the project on track.
•                    Consistently support collaborative efforts, motivate and promote a cooperative team environment at all levels.
•                    End to end project planning including managing the needs and expectations of ICON, Global Procurement, clients and other stake-holders. Working closely with cross functional teams to define project scope, required deliverables, activities and successful closure to agreed milestones.
•                    Coordinating and communication with project resources, internal team, stakeholders and vendors on all aspects of project progression/status.
•                    Continuous improvement – analyses and recommends program specific improvements, ensuring correct controls and processes are in place to sustain.
•                    Risk management including impact analysis, issue escalation, recommendation and resolution.
•                    Ensure project objectives are met within the constraints of the project scope, time, budget and required quality/compliance.
•                    Measuring progress and monitoring performance (overall, scope, schedule, costs, KPI’s & quality).
•                    Expected to embrace and contribute to our culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our SOP’s/processes adding value to our business, managing change and meeting client needs.
•                    Travel (approximately 10%) domestic and/or international.
General Responsibilities:
•                    Support the development, deployment and operational business support of the new ERP Procure to Pay platform.
•                    Meet individual performance goals/objectives/KPI’s.
•                    Ensure adherence to Global Procurement policy.
•                    Continuous review and improvement of key global SOP’s & ICON SOP’s where they impact Global Procurement.
•                    Maintain confidentiality of management information and keep senior management informed in relation to financial information, quality, risk and timelines.
 Responsibilities Supervision
•                    Lead resources responsible for the successful outcomes and continuous improvement related to projects.

•                    Must build and maintain working relationships with individuals in other departments, customers or companies at all levels, internally & externally.
Experience and Skills
•                    Strong combination of project management, technical and business skills, including but not limited to the following:
o   Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership, organizational, analytical and project management skills, especially in  the areas of Procurement and Vendor Management
o   Proven project leadership ability with excellent communication skills including listening, verbal, presentation and written. Experience of working with and representing customers.
o   Issue identification and strong problem analysis and solution developmental skills.
o   Excellent problem solving, negotiation, communication and influencing skills
o   Appreciation of budgets and budget management with demonstrated numerical/cost analysis skills.
o   Analytical/decision making skills that support a modern progressive organisation.
o   Ability to manage & champion change / drive continuous improvement processes.
o   Ability to work multiple priorities and excellent computer skills
o   Experience with ERP Procurement system management and business support.
•  A good commercial awareness with understanding of effective financial, contractual, planning, leading, organizing, control & risk management focusing on cost & bottom line impacts.
•  Excellent interpersonal, management and team skills, ensuring maximum results for projects are achieved across all functions & levels.
•  A self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a high paced, dynamic, global environment capable of managing risk & working under pressure to tight deadlines.
